Pressure tested
The pre-charged valve assembly is rated to handle 921 PSI and checked for leaks.

Ductless Mini-Splits
A simpler single-zone DIY mini-split for a room that needs its own heat and cool.

What you are getting
How it goes in
The indoor head and the outdoor unit connect with a pre-charged line set. You are not pulling a vacuum or weighing in refrigerant on the driveway. How Much? can still do the whole install if you would rather not.

The pre-charged valve assembly is rated to handle 921 PSI and checked for leaks.
The valve control is certified under UL 207 and CSA C22.2 No. 140.3. Intertek file 5029931.
This generation uses R-454B, the refrigerant these current DIY systems are built around.
The charge is already in the line set, so the install skips the vacuum and the gauge set.
Why this one
Select is the straightforward single-zone kit. Same idea as the 5th generation: a charged line set, one head, one outdoor unit. It is the one we point people to when the room is simple and they do not need the longer feature list.

A guest room over the garage, a home office that was an afterthought, a sunroom the central system never reaches. Select heats and cools that space on its own, so you stop opening windows and running a space heater in the same afternoon.
The line set is already charged. A careful homeowner can mount the head, run the line, and power it. If you would rather not be on a ladder with a torque wrench, How Much? does the same install and stands behind it. Either way you are not paying for a vacuum pump and a refrigerant scale on day one.

The ducts, the furnace, and the thermostat stay as they are. You are adding a zone, not replacing the system that already works for the rooms that were built with it.
This generation uses R-454B. Earlier DIY systems used R-410A.
A bundled system includes the communication wire so the two pieces can talk to each other.
The line set is made for a homeowner install. How Much? will also mount it, run it, and stand behind the work if you want that.
A single-zone system covers one space. Multi-zone condensers in this family support anywhere from 2 to 6 indoor heads, depending on the model.
